Wedding Photography Investment
We realize that your wedding is an event, a celebration, an unfolding journey that is meant to be experienced. It is our goal at Carlson Photography to naturally enter into your wedding story, capturing the emotions and moments that will unfold during your day. We have an organic approach that appreciates each couple, location and situation allowing your unique personalities to come out. We would consider it a privilege to work with you and give you a collection of images that will bring back laughter and tears for years to come. Our Goals
First, our goal is to capture natural moments as often as possible. Second, we enjoy opportunities to be creative. With enough time and any location, we can capture amazing images that show off your special relationship. A third goal is to capture the overall story of your day. This comes from those natural candids, great ceremony shots, creative portraits and fun reception images all working together. Lastly, we want you to enjoy your wedding. We want to help you create an awesome experience.
Our Style
We love working with natural light because it creates a clean and classic look. It also allows us to shoot in a way where there is freedom of movement. Our couples don't need to be placed into one pose and remain static. You can interact and move. As we said above our images have a classic and clean look. We believe this assures that despite fads and trends, your images will be loved years and decades from now.
FAQ
How many photographers will there be?
TWO! We are a husband and wife team who know exactly what the other photographer is capturing. Two photographers gives you images from multiple angles and makes sure we are as prepared as possible to capture moments as they happen!
Where are you based and do you travel?
We are based in Traverse City, MI but travel all over northern Michigan and beyond. If you are outside of northern Michigan, we will let you know if there will be any additional travel costs.
When will we get our images?
You will receive an online gallery link with all of your photos within 60 days (sometimes less depending on the season we photograph your story). You can download all the photos from the gallery and share them, choose your favorites, and order prints!
How many images will we receive?
For 9 hours of wedding coverage, you will receive between 600 to 900 fully edited images. It may depend on the schedule of your day and all that you have planned.
What does having access to the High Resolution Files mean?
You will be able to download all of your final, edited images in a high resolution format without any watermarks. This will include all of your images in Color AND B&W treatments. Your package will also include Printing Rights which allows you to print from the images as often as you want on your own.
Do you recommend doing a "First Look"?
For many couples, doing a First Look is one of the best decisions they can make. That being said, many couples choose not to. It is your wedding and you should decide what works best for you. But here are some reasons to consider it. It can settle nerves as you start your wedding day. It makes sure we get images of you as a couple no matter what happens the rest of the day. It is also a very special, private moment for the two of you. In the end, it is a personal decision for each couple. We will share the positives and negatives for your specific situation and we won't pressure you.
When do we need to pay?
We require a 50% non-refundable retainer to secure your wedding date. The balance of your wedding package is then due by your wedding date. It can be paid all at once or is smaller payments along they way. We accept cash, check or credit/debit.
What if you aren't familiar with our wedding location?
Weddings happen in all sorts of places. There are so many great venues in northern Michigan and each year there are more. We have been doing this for 10 years and every year we get to photograph at new locations. This is one of the skills you pay for when hiring a professional. We can quickly scan a location and find beautiful settings and beautiful light for photography.
Do you have back up photography gear?
Absolutely! We have extra camera bodies, lenses and flashes to make sure we are prepared for anything.
Do you photograph same sex weddings?
Absolutely! We are proud supporters and allies of the LGBTQ community. Our daughter came out to us about three years ago, and we believe that everyone deserves to love and be loved.
